I used to buy the light wright crinkle cloth Ropp shirt from Gohn Brothers. I liked them because they were so light and did not need ironing. I heat up quickly plus i try to protect my skin from the sun. In colder months i wear a vest that buttons at the neck. But they have discontinued this shirt because they could no longer obtain the crinkle cloth. Had I know this was to be, I wouldhave ordered several shirts.

Hello. Was just thumbing through and came across this article. Thought I'd share my thoughts. I started wearing plain clothes some 40 yrs ago. I spent my youth working at a Quaker conference center...Pendle Hill in Wallingford, Pa...where I'm from. From there went on to live and work at an apple orchard in Vermont. Hung out at a commune amongst Hindus...what a great time..back in the 70's! Been wearing plain clothes from Gohn Bros for many years. I have also purchased amish clothing directly from the amish. It's part of who I am...wearing plain clothes. I live a simple life working on a dairy farm in New England and enjoy plain clothes living. Wish you all well!!

In reply to <a href="https://www.quakerranter.org/quaker_books_and_selfdefeating/#comment-194559">Hans J</a>.

A few weeks ago at the meetinghouse on Sunday, someone (who I see there every week) asked my husband whether he's from a Mennonite family. My husband's whole family are members of that Meeting. He worshiped with them every Sunday until the MM decided to try out a preparative Meeting closer to his family's house. Given all the time they volunteer with both monthly and yearly Meeting, I'm sure he knows them, so I said "his dad's Tom" while he said "no, we're Quaker." The guy's answer was "huh, well I guess Quakers did used to dress that way too."
