Oh, Martin, let me just say that I have totally been there (the emergency room, that is). I’ve taken three trips to the ER with my children now (both of whom are turning out just fine with only minor scaring). Far more difficult, though, have been the times when one kid hurt the other, sorely testing my practice of the peace testimony. I was an only child, so I had no basis for understanding when my toddler hit her baby brother over the head with a Sesame Street bus. Our ER visits have never resulted from sibling fights, but we’ve had both, so I send you my compassion and prayers.
